With the help of Wells Enterprises, Inc. - the makers of Blue Bunny Ice Cream- Luigi’s wish came true. Garcia arrived at Herme’s Music store believing that he was only going to pick out the equipment he desired. His Make-A-Wish family and friends posed as shoppers while Herme’s employee, Julio, showed him around the store. Then Julio played a song on a model DJ display, identical to the one Luigi would be receiving, to signal everybody to gather and celebrate the wish. Balloons and banners
dropped, confetti was flying, fog filled the room, a crowd of people poured from outside and within the store, and Garcia was presented with all of his new DJ equipment. As he stared in shock and mama cried, local DJ's from his favorite radio station stepped up to show him how to operate his new equipment.
A real crowd pleaser was when representatives from Blue Bunny supplied a freezer of ice-cream for the celebration. A local TV station captured Luigi's festive day to share with the community and Hermes created a video for Luigi to treasure. Luigi and his family drove away with his new business cards and a truck full of DJ equipment, ready for his first gig. As guests left, many still wearing party hats and glow necklaces, smiles and a real sense of fulfillment reflected on their faces. No doubt, many lives were affected the day the music played
